Walk for ALS

Marches pour la SLA

COME WALK WITH US!

The Walk for ALS stands out as an annual event in September throughout the province. In addition to being a great opportunity to come together and show solidarity, the walk aims at achieving two crucial objectives: continue to raise public awareness about the lives of people with ALS and their families, and to raise funds that will be used to maintain the quality of services offered to members and to promote research to find the cause and cure for this terrible disease.

Next Walk dates:

  • More than 200 people came, despite the rain, to walk for ALS and made Sylvie Girard's (who passed away from ALS) dream come true. To date, This emotional event raised a total of 15 000$ and counting! Our mission was to get the public to know more about ALS and the Society, and thanks to the Girard Family, we can say Mission Accomplished! Click here to see pictures from this event.

Snowman Joe

Eventhough the first snowflakes arrived a couple of days later, it is on Saturday November 17 that Snowman Joe, the very first snowman of the season, was built.

Mrs. Louise Boucher, along with her husband, two children, and relatives continued the Snowman Joe tradition in front of DDO's Civic Centre, in memory of her father who past away because of ALS in 2000. Not only did the activity help raise more awareness, it also raised over $1,000!
